Green Lake

Love to people watch? Want to live somewhere that’s very accessible and built for community engagement? Then wander over to Green Lake in north Seattle. Green Lake is a freshwater lake within Green Lake Park. Wallingford is just a step south, with Phinney Ridge to the west and Woodland Park to the southwest.

Margaret Smith, Team Administrator for the Pickett Street Team, lived on Sunnyside Ave near Green Lake for only a year and quickly fell in love with the community. She would park her cherry red Honda Fit outside her house- leave it there to rest for the day while she bused to work in downtown Seattle, walked from the bus for dinner that evening at Spuds then met up with friends for a volleyball game that evening. The opportunities for social activity are endless.

Interstate 5 runs on the east side of Green Lake and there are several options to bus, walk, bike, skateboard or run in the area. The path around the lake is approximately 2.8 miles- ideal for walking/running.
